Intelligent light pole is a representative product of 5G new infrastructure, which is a new information and communication infrastructure integrating 5G communication, wireless communication, intelligent lighting, video surveillance, traffic management, environmental monitoring, information interaction and urban public services.
From environmental sensors to broadband Wi-Fi to electric vehicle charging and more, cities are increasingly turning to the latest technologies to better serve, manage and protect their residents. Smart rod management systems can reduce costs and improve the efficiency of overall city operations.
However, the current research on smart cities and smart light poles is still in the initial stage, and there are still many problems to be solved in practical use:
(1) The existing intelligent management system of street lamps is not compatible with each other and is difficult to integrate with other public equipment, which makes users have concerns when considering the use of intelligent lighting control system, which directly affects the large-scale application of intelligent lighting and intelligent light poles. Must study the open interface standard, make the system has a standardized, compatible, extensible, widely used, etc, make the wireless wi-fi, charging pile, video monitoring, environmental monitoring, emergency alarm, snow and rain, dust and light sensor fusion are free to access platform, network equipment and intelligent control, or with other functional systems coexist in light pole, connect with each other and are independent of each other.
(2) Currently commonly used information and communication technologies include near-distance WIFI, Bluetooth and other wireless technologies, which have defects such as small coverage, poor reliability and poor mobility; 4G/5G module, there are high chip cost, high power consumption, connection number and other defects; Private technologies such as power carrier have the problems of rate limitation, reliability and interconnectivity.
(3) the present wisdom light pole still stays in each application module of the application of simple integration, can’t satisfy the demand for light pole services increased, the cost of manufacturing a wisdom light pole is high, the appearance and performance optimization cannot be obtained in the short term, each device limited service life, use need to be replaced after a fixed number of year, not only increase the overall power consumption of the system, It also reduces the reliability of the smart light pole.
(4) on the market at present the function of the light pole use need to install a variety of hardware, software, in the use of intelligent lighting system platform, software need to install a variety of equipment, such as custom light pole need camera, screen advertising, weather control, just need to install the camera software, advertising screen software, weather station software and so on, customers in the use of the function module, The application software needs to be changed constantly as required, resulting in low efficiency and poor customer experience.
To solve the above problems, functional integration and technological development are needed. Smart light poles, as the basis point of smart cities, are of great significance to the construction of smart cities. Infrastructure based on smart light poles can further support the collaborative operation of smart cities and bring comfort and convenience to the city.
