How to straighten high masts

High mast manufacturers usually design street lamp poles with a height of more than 12 meters into two sections for plugging. One reason is that the pole body is too long to be transported. Another reason is that if the overall length of the high mast pole is too long, it is inevitable that a super-large bending machine is required. If this is done, the production cost of the high mast will be very high. In addition, the longer the lamp body of the high mast is, the easier it is to deform.

However, plugging will be affected by many factors. For example, high masts are generally made of two or four sections. During the plugging process, if the plugging operation is improper or the plugging direction is incorrect, the installed high mast will not be straight as a whole, especially when standing at the bottom of the high mast and looking up, you will feel that the verticality does not meet the requirements. How should we deal with this common situation? Let’s deal with it from the following points.

High masts are large lamps in the lamp poles. They are very easy to deform when rolling and bending the pole body. Therefore, they must be adjusted repeatedly with a straightening machine after rolling. After the lamp pole is welded, it needs to be galvanized. Galvanizing itself is a high-temperature process. Under the action of high temperature, the pole body will also bend, but the amplitude will not be too large. After galvanizing, it only needs to be fine-tuned by a straightening machine. The above mentioned situations can be controlled in the factory. What if the high mast is not straight as a whole when assembled on site? There is a way that is both convenient and practical.

We all know that high masts are large in size. During transportation, due to factors such as bumps and squeezing, slight deformation is inevitable. Some are not obvious, but some are very crooked after several sections of the pole are plugged together. At this time, we must straighten the individual pole sections of the high mast, but it is definitely unrealistic to transport the lamp pole back to the factory. There is no bending machine on site. How to adjust it? It’s very simple. You only need to prepare three things, namely gas cutting, water and self-spray paint.

These three things are easy to get. Wherever iron is sold, there is gas cutting. Water and self-spray paint are even easier to find. We can use the principle of thermal expansion and contraction. The bending position of the high mast must have one side that is bulging. Then we use gas cutting to bake the bulging point until it is baked red, and then quickly pour cold water on the baked red position until it cools down. After this process, the slight bend can be corrected at one time, and for severe bends, just repeat three or two times to solve the problem.

Because the high mast itself is too heavy and too high, once there is a slight deviation problem, if you go back and make a second correction, it will be a super large project, and it will also waste a lot of manpower and material resources, and the loss caused by this will not be a small amount.

Precautions

1. Safety first:

During the installation process, always put safety first. When hoisting the lamp pole, ensure the stability of the crane and the safety of the operator. When connecting the cable and debugging and testing, pay attention to prevent safety accidents such as electric shock and short circuit.

2. Pay attention to quality:

During the installation process, pay attention to the quality of the materials and the fineness of the process. Choose high-quality materials such as light poles, lamps and cables to ensure the service life and lighting effect of high masts. At the same time, pay attention to details during the installation process, such as the tightening of bolts, the direction of cables, etc., to ensure the stability and aesthetics of the installation.

3. Consider environmental factors:

When installing high masts, fully consider the impact of environmental factors on their use effect. Factors such as wind direction, wind force, temperature, humidity, etc. may affect the stability, lighting effect and service life of high masts. Therefore, corresponding measures should be taken for protection and adjustment during the installation process.

4. Maintenance:

After the installation is completed, the high mast should be regularly maintained. Such as cleaning the dust and dirt on the surface of the lamp, checking the connection of the cable, tightening the bolts, etc. At the same time, when a fault or abnormal situation is found, it should be handled and repaired in time to ensure the normal use and safety of the high mast.
